The PS3's appeal hits you right away from
the moment it comes out of the box.
It has a shiny black cover without the external power brick.
The PS3 is quiet too! This is a big difference
you notice the minute you
turn it on. Compared to the Xbox that's fan
makes a small roar, the PS3 whispers.
The real star of the PS3 is it's Cell Broadband
Engine. This was developed by Sony, Toshiba,
and IBM as a joint effort. The engine places nine processors onto a single chip
that are barely a half-inch square in size.
Because the Cell chip is designed to use less power and
specializes in
high-resolution graphics, it will
probably be used for other functions besides
just games.
